What a weekend!!

We had an action packed weekend. Saturday we stayed home and did stuff around the house. I got a 20 mile run in and Jeff installed Kamryn and Kason's new front facing car seats now that they are one year old and 20 lbs. This will save both of our backs. Jeff was still carrying both baby car seats at the same time with 20 lb. babies inside.

Sunday, we went to the circus in Moline, Illinois with nephew/cousin Nathan. We had lunch at Olive Garden before the circus and took advantage of having the extra set of hands by going to Target and Babies "R" Us afterwards. The circus was fun! Loud but fun. Kaelen covered her ears most of the time but told us she really liked the circus. Kason smiled, laughed, clapped, and thoroughly enjoyed himself. Kamryn fell asleep on my lap and slept the whole time- two hours. Guess it was not too loud for her!! Or maybe our house is just too quiet.

Monday morning we celebrated Kamryn and Kason's first birthday. They seem very interested in their new car. Then we went to the Children's Museum in Iowa City. The kids, especially Kaelen, really liked that. Kaelen favorites were the grocery store and pizza parlor. For lunch we took nephew/cousin Zach who just started at Iowa and his roommate Nils to Brown Bottle and then to Whitey's for ice cream. Had to have some graham ice cream! Zach is doing well and likes Iowa so far. Made me realize how far away I am from my college days. Man, those college freshman look young! The whole family even went for a tour of their dorm. Kaelen was not shy at all, running thru the dorm and telling us she likes college.

Once we returned back to Muscatine it was time for Kaelen's swimming lessons. She really enjoys them. Kamryn and Kason start swimming lessons this week. Anxious to see what they think of them. After dinner we got in a quick walk/ride of the neighborhood. Back to routine tomorrow.
