Happy 1st Birthday Kamryn and Kason!! Wow- what a year this has been with having twins bless our family. Did not plan to have them a year ago today- 6 weeks early but then again we have had lots of unexpected blessings this past year. Never will forget the first time I got to hold them when they were a day old. They were so small (4 lbs.), fragile, and hooked up to at least 10,000 wires monitoring every aspect of their preemie life but yet absolutely beautiful and peaceful. I remember thinking that Kason needs to get a lot bigger to play in the NFL. And bigger and stronger they both got quickly. Seventeen days later the feeding tubes were replaced with bottles, the apnea monitors were removed and we had all three of our kids at home. Today they are totally caught up size and weight wise and show no adverse affects from coming into the world early.
It is amazing how different Kamryn and Kason are wired. Kamryn is our little Diva. (Not sure where she gets it. Jeff quickly points to me as I have been known pre-kids to plan vacations around what Ritz Carlton I wanted to stay at. What can I say there is nothing like staying at the Ritz). Kamryn loves to have the spotlight and attention on her and Kason and Kaelen are happy to oblige. She has such a sweet two teeth smile and sure is a fighter when she is mad. She just started saying the cutest little "Uh-oh" you have ever heard. She is definitely a "girl" and goes about everything in a dainty fashion.
Kason is such a nice sweet boy and so laid back. I could take a few lessons from him- ha! He has the best laugh that instantly makes you smile when you hear it. He loves to self play and study objects like wheels and our Roomba vacuum. Am thinking he will follow Daddy and Mommy into the field of engineering.
Kaelen has adjusted wonderfully to being a BIG sister. Now that they are bigger she is really starting to see that she can have fun playing with her siblings. She is always telling us how beautiful, handsome, and sweet the babies are.
Will not lie and say that it has been easy. People always say to me that they can't imagine having baby twins and a toddler. It is true you can't imagine it until you experience it. It has been a lot of work so it is kind of funny to me that the babies' first birthdays fall on Labor Day. It is crazy but we would not want it any other way!!
