We had a nice, long weekend. Thanksgiving was spent at Kevin and Monica's with tons of yummy food and a game of Apples to Apples. Kaelen had a great time playing with cousin Nathan! It was great spending time with everyone.
Friday, Kaelen joined our annual trip to the craft sale in Rock Island with Aunt Monica, Grandma Bonnie, and Grandma Sharrie (Monica's mom). She did great and was an absolute sweetheart. We had lunch at Panera and went to Isabel Bloom before heading home. Jeff, Kamryn, and Kason spent the morning getting several door busters at Younkers. Friday night we went back to Kevin and Monica's for leftovers and more play time with cousin Nathan.
Saturday Jeff and Kaelen put Christmas decorations outside and I worked on the inside. We are going with a little fiber optic tree this year. Not up for a real tree and all my breakable ornaments this year with two 15 month olds on the go. The kids all like it and as Kaelen says "It is sweet!" Also spent lots of time cleaning our dinning room floor after every meal that Kamryn and Kason had. Forgot how messy young self feeders are! I told Jeff that someday we will miss having a floor covered with food. We'll see. We do see a lot more of Zip the cat now at meal times. Zip never knows what he may be able to scrounge up.
This morning I ran 21 miles. So blessed to have such great running weather this late in the year. Then Jeff and I had a productive work day at home while the kids went to play at Grandma and Grandpa Tjebkes'. We needed to get a few things done before going back to work tomorrow. Jeff heads to Chicago for a few days for work this week. So it will just be Kaelen and me cheering on the Patriots Monday night for their big game.
Here are some pictures from our weekend, and Kaelen's trip to the Festival of Trees with her preschool this past week.
