Des Moines trip

Last weekend we went to Des Moines for a little family get away. Kaelen always likes to know that we have a fun weekend coming up, especially if it involves a swimming pool at a hotel. She loves that little kid's pool at the Hilton Garden Inn by Jordan Creek, and we wanted to do a little shopping too so we decided to take another weekend trip.

It turned out the Des Moines marathon and half marathon were also last weekend, so Kaelen ran the kids' race on Saturday and I ran the half marathon on Sunday. I was very happy about my time of 1:45 in the half, my second best time in that distance.

This weekend Jeff worked outside on Saturday winterizing the house and garage, and the kids had a day care Halloween party. On Sunday we stayed around home and watched the Patriots beat the Tampa Bay Bucs in London.

Tomorrow I'm off to Des Moines again, but for work this time. Back Tuesday night.

Kaelen insists on wearing her Tom Brady jersey when she does races, she says it makes her run fast. Evidently she's never actually seen Tom Brady run...
