Red eye!

We took the red eye flight from San Francisco last night and arrived in Chicago this morning at 5am. Unfortunately we have a 3 hour layover for the flight to Moline, but that gives me a few minutes to blog.

Yesterday we took a ferry to Sausalito, across the Bay from San Francisco. It took about a half hour to get there. It's a lot quieter than downtown San Francisco. There are some nice shops and restaurants, we had lunch at a little wood-oven pizza place before heading back by ferry to the north side Pier 41. We walked over to Pier 39 where the sea lions hang out. Then we took a cable car down to the Union Square area where there is a lot of shopping (Macy's, etc.). After a couple hours we headed back up to the Fisherman's Wharf area then took a street trolley back to the hotel. By then it was about 7:30pm, so we headed to dinner at Cheesecake Factory. After dinner it was time to head to the airport and catch the 11pm flight to Chicago.

We're looking forward to seeing the kids tonight. On Wednesday we all head out to Chicago for a few days. We're also taking our nephew Nate. I'm sure we'll have some adventures to write about by the end of the week.
