Keeping Busy

The twins are growing a lot. We take them to Dr. Schmieg on Tuesday for their 2 month checkup and shots. We're anxious to see what they weigh, and what their lengths are. Both of them are really filling out.

Saturday night they basically slept through the night. We fed them around 10:15pm, and they didn't get up until 6:15am. Kandice got up early to go running outside (14 miles, great job!) and when she left around 5:30am she woke me up and said that they had slept until then. They were stirring a little, but they made it to around 6:15am when I got them up. It was great! I don't know if it will happen again for a while, but one night like that was definitely a blessing.

Otherwise the past week and weekend were also good. Halloween was fun for everyone, all of the kids were really cute in their costumes. I think Kaelen got a real kick out of dressing up this year. I guess at 2 yrs old dressing up in a funny costume is a fun thing to do because she was all smiles. Even when it was 60 degrees and she had on a heavy hooded costume she was having a good time.

Yesterday we took Kaelen to tennis lessons in Muscatine. They actually have a class for kids her age. She was very cautious for the first 15 minutes or so, then Tom Eberhard arrived with his kids Reece and Keagan, who also take lessons there. I think Reece is 3, and Kaelen has been around him before. So when he started hitting the ball around, and running around the court, she thought it was worth a try. She seemed to have a great time. Lots of running around chasing balls, but she smiled and laughed the whole time. I think we'll enroll, it will be a great structured activity for Kaelen on Saturday mornings. Tom told me that the instructor, Charlie, was previously the women's tennis coach at the University of Iowa, and Charlie told me that he has a 2 year old granddaughter. He really engaged Kaelen and she wasn't shy at all with him.

Kaelen continues to be the big helper around the house. She loves spending more and more time with Kason and Kamryn. After she gets home at night she will sit down next to them and talk and kiss their heads. It's very cute.

Kandice made it through her first week back to work. Another week of half-days before her trip to Boston the following week.
