Niabi Zoo

Had a fun and on the go weekend. Friday night, Jeff and I went out to dinner at Red Crow Grille in Bettendorf to celebrate my birthday (which was in May). This was the soonest we could get everything aligned to go out. Had a nice dinner and capitalized on the opportunity to have a conversation with just the two of us.

Saturday, Kaelen and I attended her friend Erika's 4th Birthday Party. The was the first friend birthday party that Kaelen had attended. We went swimming at the YMCA and had pizza and cake. It was fun and Kaelen enjoyed it. It was funny- Erika's parents told me that Erika talks about Kaelen McKenzie Tjebkes ALL the time at home. Erika's parents know all about what Kaelen does. Jeff enjoyed his Father's Day gift and had a massage Saturday afternoon. Then after Kamryn & Kason's naps, the five of us plus Cousin Nate went to Machine Shed to eat dinner. We also had a nice, long hay rack ride afterwards at the restaurant.

Sunday, I volunteered in the 3 year old room at church. Then we all headed to the Niabi Zoo in Coal Valley, Illinois along with Cousin Nate and Grandma & Grandpa Tjebkes. Yes, it does take all five of us to watch all three kids when they are all running around! The rain held off and we had a great time. The black bear was Kaelen's favorite. Kamyrn liked everything as she was pointing and "talking" the whole time. Kason enjoyed just running around and having us all chase him.

Also, squeezed in running and some projects around the house. Kason's new bedroom furniture came in finally so got his room all put in place along with Kamryn's new bookcase. We also got Kamryn & Kason's big girl/big boy beds delivered. We are keeping them in storage for a while longer as I am in no hurry for them to be out of their cribs.
