We took Kaelen to Dora the Explorer Live at the Chicago Theater downtown. We bought tickets for it about 2 months ago when Kaelen was still very much into Dora. Since then she has moved on to Diego, so we were all happy when the Diego character was a big part of the show. It lasted about 90 minutes including a 20 minute intermission, about perfect for the audience of hundreds of kids.
After the show we ran into Macy's on State Street (the old Marshall Fields store) and did some quick shopping as a follow-up to last weekend's shopping trip to Schaumburg. After the shopping we went to the hotel, then to dinner at the Rainforest Cafe'.
Kaelen liked the Rainforest Cafe'. We sat by some elephants which at first concerned her, but then she thought the whole thing was really neat. After dinner we did some swimming at the hotel then Kaelen finally crashed about 10pm.
Kaelen slept late, Kandice ran early, we had breakfast and did some more swimming. Kandice went outside around 9:30AM and saw the Shamrock Shuffle (8k race) runners go by the hotel (it was sleeting and snowing at the time!). She was excited as she saw Deena Kastor (Silver Medalist in Womens's Olympic Marathon) run by. After swimming we enjoyed a take-out lunch from Weber Grill before heading home and picked up the twins in West Liberty.
Here are a few pics from the weekend and last week.
Kason's shirt says "Little Ham" -- so true.
