Trip to Des Moines

We went to Des Moines on Monday-Tuesday to stay at a nice Hilton Garden Inn near Jordan Creek Mall. The hotel has a really nice kids pool (1-1/2 ft deep) that Kaelen really likes. The trip went really well. When we checked in they gave us a two-room suite which gave us one room for Kaelen to sleep and one room for us and the twins. That was nice since the twins get a little loud around 6AM when they are hungry. Everyone slept well! We also enjoyed PF Chang and Cheesecake Factory while in Des Moines, then on Tuesday we drove a little out of the way to stop in Ames to eat at Hickory Park (one of my favorite restaurants). It was very good.

On Wednesday we had Zip's yearly check-up. Of course they do not let him go down to the office, so the vet comes to our house. I gave him two doses of animal tranquilizer about an hour before the vet got to the house. He was a little woozy, but he still hissed and growled at her. He has a really good memory, he recognized her right away! But she was able to give him his rabies shot and do a quick (about 10 seconds) check-up. Good enough for another year....
